Emergency crews responded to a report of a downed plane in North Salem Thursday night.
Only, there was no plane crash. The plane was actually safe in its hangar the whole time, according to officials.
Town Supervisor Warren Lucas says just before 6 p.m., a plane was reported down around Norton and Finch Roads.
State police, EMS and fire departments all responded.
Danbury's airport control tower reported the plane below radar.
About a half hour later, the airport manager sent News 12 a note, saying the plane they were originally looking for was safe in its maintenance hangar.
The cause of the confusion was unclear, but officials say sometimes when a plane is being cared for on the ground, a sensor can accidentally be hit so that's one possibility.
