Driver error is being blamed for a dump truck crash that narrowly missed hitting two cars in Warwick Tuesday morning.
Police say the driver was in the wrong gear going down Warwick Turnpike, causing him to lose his brakes and go right through the intersection of Route 94.
"He had about 70,000 pounds and unable to stop, so had he struck another vehicle, the results could have been catastrophic," said Warwick Police Lt. Thomas Maslanka.
Police say the truck was carrying soil, which was later removed from the field where it spilled.
News 12 has learned that the driver was taken to the hospital with a head injury, but is expected to be OK.
