A driver and her dog escaped without injury after her car burst into flames Wednesday on the northbound Saw Mill Parkway near Executive Boulevard in Yonkers.

Video from the scene showed flames shooting into the air as the vehicle became fully engulfed.

The driver said the car began shaking, acted erratically and suddenly grew loud before she pulled over. The fire erupted after the vehicle came to a stop, said Fortini, the car owner.

She and her dog were able to get out safely and were not hurt.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
