Department of Public Works crews in Yonkers are urging drivers to stay off the roads until they have had a chance to clear them.
News 12 reporter Bronagh Tumulty took a ride-along with a Yonkers plow at the height of Saturday's snowstorm.
A state of emergency is currently in effect across Westchester County, meaning that all non-essential drivers run the risk of being ticketed if they are on the roads.
"Staying off the roads is probably the best way to say 'thank you' to the men and women working here in Yonkers," says Mayor Mike Spano.
Crews are expected to be working overnight, but significant improvements to roadways are not expected until Monday.
