Victims of domestic violence were treated to a spa day in White Plains.
The Junior League of Central Westchester teamed up with the Family Justice Center of Westchester to pamper domestic violence survivors by turning the Westchester County Center into a spa.
"This is a day of hope and trying to lift spirits and recognize that we all count," says domestic violence survivor Kristine Redfield.
Redfield spent 13 years with an abusive husband, but says she left when she realized her son was getting older and was able to mimic the abusive behaviors he was witnessing.
"The turning point was my son," she says. "He was getting older and he was really able to mimic behaviors. I didn't want him to continue that cycle."
Each women received a necklace with the words believe and strength, as well as the saying 'don't look back that's not where you are going.'
