Thousands of people from Yonkers and from around the world will pay their final respects to the iconic rapper DMX on Saturday.
Many will gather in Yonkers near the Yonkers Raceway for a "ride out" - and make the trek together to Brooklyn where a memorial service will be held at the Barclays Center.
DMX died on April 9, a week after being rushed to the hospital following a heart attack. He was 50 years old.
People who grew up loving his music say they want to be part of the tributes to a man who did so much for his community.
Yonkers police are closing the intersection of Yonkers Avenue and Central Park Avenue from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday because that will be the staging area to the ride out to Brooklyn. They are asking the public to avoid the area and take alternate routes.
The "Celebration of Life" memorial will be held at the Barclay's Center at 4 p.m. and be livestreamed on DMX's YouTube channel.
BET will be broadcasting a "Homegoing Celebration" at 2 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. This will also be streamed on his YouTube channel.
