First responders searched the Hudson River on Tuesday for a man who apparently drowned.
County Police Officer Kieran O'Leary says that three men were fishing in the area around 11 a.m. when one of the men went into the water for a swim. The two other friends say the man went under the water and hasn't been seen since.
Dozens of police and fire personnel searched the water near Croton Point Park. Westchester County Marine and Aviation units were also on the scene, along with a helicopter, boats and divers.
The victim has been identified as 47-year-old Alex DeSouza, from Brooklyn.
Police suspended the search for Disouza on Tuesday evening, but say they will resume Wednesday morning. They say the search is no longer a search and rescue mission, but a recovery mission.
