A teenager has been charged in the fatal stabbing of a Yonkers man.

Police say Derven Thompson, 17, of Yonkers, stabbed Donald Fields, 46, to death Friday night at the Dorado apartment complex at 160 Warburton Ave.

Fields was found lying in the courtyard outside the complex. Police say he was stabbed 18 times, including six times in the chest. He was rushed to St. John's Riverside Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Police say the two men were involved in a physical altercation, but have not said what caused the fight.
