Police say a case involving an elderly woman found dead inside a Pleasantville home has been ruled a homicide.
Authorities say they found 76-year-old Linda Falcoff stabbed to death at 79 Grandview Ave. on Thursday evening. They say it was apparent the woman had been dead for at least several days.
Officials say they were alerted by a mail carrier, who became suspicious after seeing mail pile up outside the home.
Police say they expect to spend several days canvassing the home as Falcoff collected many items including furniture, boxes and other debris.
Neighbors say Falcoff lived alone and kept to herself. Most say the brief interactions they had with her were friendly.
There is no word yet from police on any suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
