DA's office: Armonk man admits to accepting more than $500K in bribes
An Armonk resident pleaded guilty to accepting more than half a million dollars in bribes.
George Djurasevic, 54, pleaded guilty to bribery and tax evasion, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn.
Authorities say he accepted the payments in his role as manager of a company contracted by the New York City Water Board to provide sewer and water pipe repair services to city homeowners.
In exchange for the bribes, Djurasevic allowed the contractor to overbill for work performed or not to perform certain repairs to the homeowner's sewer and water pipes.
He faces a total of 10 years in prison when he's sentenced.
