A broken headlight led police to a stash of illegal weapons and resulted in the arrest of five Yonkers men on Thursday.Police say a vehicle with a broken headlight was traveling on Sheridan Avenue when they pulled the driver over. During the course of the stop, police say they found a stash of illegal weapons, including a loaded gun hidden in a compartment under a seat. Also discovered was a gravity knife and semiautomatic weapons that police say are illegal.Mount Vernon officials say the crackdown should serve as a warning for anyone trying to bring guns into the area. Four of the five suspects are under 20 years old and have been charged with criminal possession of a weapon. If convicted, they face 3 ½ to 15 years in prison because stricter gun laws recently went into effect.
