Authorities are searching for a missing 17-year-old male with autism who was last seen in White Plains Thursday morning.
Westchester County Police say they have crews searching in Yonkers and in White Plains near the Westchester County Office Building. Investigators say that is where Gene Warren was last seen at around 11:20 a.m. A chaperone noticed that he had gone missing during an educational program.
Police say Warren, who lives at the Leake & Watts residential treatment center in Yonkers, may be in need of medical attention. They say he has a history of hopping on buses and trains and is known to travel to Brooklyn.
Warren is 5 feet 9 inches tall and is 230 pounds with a stocky build. At the time he went missing, he was wearing blue jeans, a navy blue and white plaid shirt, a black bubble jacket and blue and white sneakers.
Investigators are hoping Warren will return to his residence in Yonkers.
