Construction crews could be seen all over Westchester Thursday making repairs to houses damaged by powerful storms.
There are still 10,200 homes and businesses without power, mostly in the worst-hit areas of White Plains, Port Chester, Yonkers, Greenburgh and Scarsdale. Officials say it could be days before all power to the county is restored. Lightning struck many large trees, sending them crashing onto homes. Many residents say they are lucky the damage wasn?t worse.
The National Weather Service says the latest punch from Mother Nature was not another tornado, but something called a microbust, which packs powerful winds.
