Police are warning people to check their bank accounts after a skimming device was found at an Orange County gas station.
Officials say the device was attached to the inside of a gas pump credit card reader at the Shell station on Route 52, just off I-84 in Newburgh.
The device was discovered after a routine inspection of the pumps on Monday. Police say there is no way to tell how long the device had been installed because it was behind a panel that can only be opened with a key.
So far, there have been no complaints from customers.
Newburgh police are asking victims or anyone with information to come forward by calling them at 564-1100.
