If your New Year's resolution is to get back in shape, the Westchester Health Department is offering a way to help.
Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino and the Health Department held a press conference today to kick off their new "Keep Healthy Campaign" in White Plains.
This month they're giving away free flu shots and blood pressure screenings at several fitness centers throughout the county.
The campaign's goal is to encourage residents not only to stay active, but to stay healthy. "Today we are here to talk about know[ing] your numbers, and we're starting with blood pressure. So if you have an elevated blood pressure it can impact your kidneys, it can cause stroke, over the long term, so know your blood pressure," says Westchester County Commissioner of Health Dr. Sherlita Amler.
Blood pressure screenings are being done at various locations across the county including fitness facilities such as Crunch, Club Fit and 24 Hour Fitness.
