Police scoured the area around Webster Avenue in New Rochelle, looking for a man who was allegedly seen running barefoot across the Hutchinson River Parkway Thursday morning.
Authorities say motorists and a worker from the Department of Transportation informed them that the man appeared to have blood on him. Police launched a helicopter and searched the neighborhood with K-9 dogs in an effort to find him.
According to police, at the same time the man apparently ran across the parkway, officers from the Eastchester Police Department found an abandoned car. The ID inside the vehicle belonged to a person wanted by the NYPD for a non-violent crime, police say.
Officials say it is unclear if the two incidents are related and insist there is no cause for concern. They say they want to find the man in order to make sure he was not hurt and did not hurt anyone else.
