A Bronx man was arrested Thursday for allegedly masturbating in front of a woman on the subway.

The woman on the train used her cell phone to take a picture of Kevin Bishop who is charged with public lewdness. Initially, she presented the picture to New York police but was told by an officer to report it to 311 instead. Eventually, police worked with the woman and copied the picture which investigators say led to Bishop?s arrest.

Investigators say the NYPD Internal Affairs Bureau has identified the officer who first turned the woman away.

Bishop is being held for $1,500 bail and $2,500 bond. He is due back in Manhattan Criminal Court on Aug. 19.
