Wednesday marked the first full day that containment has been lifted in New York's first hot spot New Rochelle.
The containment was a 1-mile radius around the epicenter of New York's first known cases, at the Young Israel of New Rochelle synagogue.

For the past two weeks, mass gatherings have been banned.

Even though containment has been lifted, all of New York has followed suit, leaving not much change in the containment zone.

"The lifting of the containment zone really doesn't change much at all, because we have been for more than a week under statewide restrictions that are more stringent than those that were unique," says New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson.

New Rochelle still has the most cases in Westchester, with at least 264.

The mayor says initial numbers show the rate of increase is moderating, but that data needs to be taken with a grain of salt because of the constant changes.
