A Connecticut National Guardsman was killed Thursday when his military truck collided with another car on I-95 in Rye.
The Westchester County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim as 43-year-old Ronald Patterson Jr. of Bridgeport. Police say the military truck he was riding in hit the other car with such force that he and the driver were thrown out when the truck rolled over.
The accident happened near exit 21 on I-95. The guardsmen were heading to Fort Dix in New Jersey after training exercises.
The driver and the driver of the second car were taken to the hospital.
