A manhunt for a fugitive wanted in a Connecticut sexual assault case in ended Friday in Ardsley after a high-speed chase with police.
The hunt for Gary Fricker, 54, began Tuesday after police say he sexually assaulted a woman at gunpoint in front of her two children in a parking garage at a Marriot hotel in Stamford, Connecticut. Police in Connecticut were in pursuit of Fricker Friday when he crossed state lines onto the NYS Thruway. NY State police say they chased Fricker as he weaved in and out of traffic and eventually crashed into a police cruiser near the Ardsley exit.
Upon his capture, police say Fricker tried to escape but was tasered and arrested. Fricker, who is from Florida, is facing charges in New York, Florida and Connecticut. The New York charges stem from the alleged chase. He is being held at the Westchester County Jail and faces extradition to Connecticut and Florida.
