Rep. Pat Ryan (D-18) is responding to vandalism at his Newburgh office.

Pictures show the words "war criminal" and "cease fire now" painted on his office windows.

In a statement, Ryan highlighted the importance of free speech in democracy but emphasized that vandalizing federal property is not a form of free speech and does not contribute to lasting peace.

Ryan encouraged constituents to peacefully voice their opinions, including reaching out to his office.
