Con Edison says they were concerned about the wind when it comes to downed wires as temperatures dropped Monday evening.
Rye Brook resident Seth Ashby says his power went out Monday morning. Con Edison restored power for him and his neighbors around 4 p.m.
Arturo Lopez of New Rochelle-based Ramiro's Tree Service says that trees topple onto power lines due to a combination of rotting wood and heavy snow.
Lopez says he would be working into the night to survey downed tree as Con Edison continues to work to restore power before freezing temperatures settle in.
Con Edison tells News 12 they weren't worried about the frigid temperatures but are more concerned about the wind.
Anyone who sees downed wires should call Con Edison at 1-800-75-CONED or a local police department.
