A bipartisan group of state and county lawmakers are launching an investigation into Con Edison?s handling of the power outages due to the recent storm.
At a press conference in Eastchester led by Assemblyman Richard Brodsky (D-Elmsford), a dozen lawmakers spoke of the ?firestorm of anger? surrounding the power outages throughout Westchester. The politicians accused the utility company of not planning ahead and not learning from past mistakes. Eastchester Supervisor Tony Colavita says that a monopoly like Con Ed cannot afford to drop the ball.
A spokesperson for Con Ed says they did add extra crews in anticipation of Ernesto. He also says the storm was the worst the county has seen in 20 years.
