Community members and political leaders joined forces Sunday in New Castle to fight against anti-Semitism and spread the message that "hate has no place here."
Town Councilwoman Lisa Katz organized the rally. Speakers at the event say recent conflict between Israel and Palestine in the Middle East spurred violent attacks against Jewish people throughout the U.S.
In May, the Anti-Defamation League reported a 75% surge in anti-Semitism from the agency's 25 regional offices.
Those in the crowd and on the stage say everyone must work together to build communities where hate cannot thrive.
The message: "Be Jewish and proud and always remember the words; never again."
