The Noroton Heights Fire Department's 38th annual Christmas Tree Sale began this weekend.
It's the all-volunteer department's biggest fundraiser of the year.
Sales will go toward the organization, volunteers, along with training and equipment. It will also assist with facility upkeep and community outreach.
Members will be behind the firehouse at 200 Noroton Ave. in Darien Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursday and Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. until all 650 trees and 200 wreaths are sold out.
They say this happens within a couple of weeks.
"We meet people that we've been on calls with and people that have just moved to town, they can meet us in a setting that isn't an emergency, and we welcome them into here, and they welcome us into their holiday, which is great," said Chief Justin Plank.
Trees can be delivered to homes in Darien, but members say they are delivered via pickup truck, not a fire truck.
