Clouds roll in through the day, but showers are not too far away

The weather today will feel nearly as nice as yesterday, where the Pick of the Week gave us a truly delightful Spring day! We'll see temperatures get up into the mid-60s, which is seasonal for this time of year, but unlike yesterday, we'll see more clouds roll in today for the afternoon hours. Some areas north and west of Westchester County may see a few raindrops during the afternoon rush, but most locations will stay dry. That is because drier air will be here through the day, and as a cold front approaches the region with that shower potential, the rain will evaporate as it comes closer towards the surface.

Wednesday, however, will have showers come around for everyone during the second half of the day. There will be scattered showers in the afternoon hours with a few downpours in the evening hours. The system that will be moving through the region will exit Thursday morning, and the shower potential will decrease during the morning rush. Thursday afternoon will have us swapping our umbrellas for jackets and hats as brisk and drier air will move in. We'll keep that being the trend going into Friday as well with breezy winds to come around. Sadly, it won't feel quite like the beginning of May on Friday with temps running about 10 degrees below average.

Good news though for any plans you may have on the first weekend of May. There is a decreasing chance of showers for Saturday! A system will pass by to the south, and if that trend continues, we'll just see cloudy skies with some cool & breezy winds. It won't be an ideal day, but at least it will be better than how it was this past Saturday where it was basically a washout.
