(12/17/07) YONKERS ? It?s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the post office.
Monday is considered the busiest mailing day of the year for the United States Postal Service. Residents in and around Westchester County packed the post office in Yonkers trying to get cards and gifts to loved ones by Christmas.
The lines were long Monday morning, but spirits relatively optimistic. Those dropping off packages felt confident they?d get to their destinations on time.
Representatives of the postal service say standard packages should be dropped off no later than Thursday to be delivered on time. Express mail packages can be dropped off by Dec. 22.
