A resolution has been reached in the case of two teenage girls who claim they were roughed up by Poughkeepsie police.
Sisters Jamelia Barnett and Julissa Dawkins faced charges after police tried to break up a fight back in 2019.
A video of the incident appeared to show an officer throwing Barnett to the ground.
The sisters' attorney, William Wagstaff, says the county attorney's office decided charges will be "adjourned in contemplation of dismissal."
That means they'll be effectively dropped as long as the girls attend school regularly, obey school rules and have no adverse interactions with law enforcement for six months.
Wagstaff says he's disappointed the charges were not outright dismissed.
