The University of New Haven came together Tuesday to remember a student-athlete killed in a wrong-way crash last week.
A celebration of life was held in honor of Ryan O'Shea.
The 21-year-old senior from Stony Point was killed in a crash on Interstate 91 on Friday. State police said the vehicle O'Shea was driving was struck head-on by a wrong-way driver in North Haven.
Those who knew the hockey player have described him as a leader on and off campus.
School officials say a plaque with O'Shea's name will be added to an in memoriam display next to the university's charger statue.
Two memorial scholarships have since been established by O'Shea's family in his honor.
