The retired NYPD detective accused of fatally shooting a man during an alleged road rage incident on the George Washington Bridge appeared in court Tuesday as prosecutors move forward with the case.

Victor Romero, 62, of Haverstraw, is charged with first-degree manslaughter in the death of 46-year-old Koran Irvine, of Valley Cottage.

According to the Manhattan District Attorney's Office, the case will be presented to a grand jury and a vote is expected.

Prosecutors allege the shooting happened Oct. 20 on the outbound upper level of the George Washington Bridge as Irvine was driving home from work.

Investigators say surveillance video shows Romero's vehicle nearly colliding with Irvine's car before Romero allegedly followed him across the bridge.

Authorities allege Romero then pulled alongside Irvine's vehicle and fired a single shot while both vehicles were moving.

Irvine was struck in the rear right shoulder before his vehicle crossed several lanes of traffic and crashed into a median.

He was taken to Englewood Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Prosecutors allege Romero left the scene and was arrested the following day at his workplace in Manhattan.

Romero was initially charged with murder before prosecutors proceeded on a first-degree manslaughter charge.

He previously posted $1 million bail.

Both Romero and Irvine were Rockland County residents.

Irvine had worked for Con Edison for 20 years at the time of his death.
