Residents turned out for the Community Board 7 public safety and quality of life meeting Thursday night after recent shootings within the 52nd Precinct's jurisdiction.
Residents voiced their crime concerns to police in attendance. A representative from the Bronx district attorney's office was also on hand to answer questions.
Over the past month, there have been three shootings that took place on Decatur Avenue, Valentine Avenue and East 204th Street. Many say they are happy to see an increased police presence in the area but they say more needs to be done to fight violent crimes.
Residents at the meeting agreed to work with police and to present a petition to get more police resources at the 52nd precinct.
The next meeting will be held on Nov. 18.
