Students from Catholic schools across New York were honored for their journalistic achievements on Friday.

For the past 43 years elementary and high school students in the Archdiocese of New York have been producing their own newscasts at the ITV Studio in Yonkers.

The Eddy Awards went to students learning the ins and outs of the news business as part of the program.

"I learned so much and I do feel privileged to be a part of this," said Elizabeth Curanaj, a student at Maria Regina High School.
