Business owners are now facing another threat after the coronavirus closed or slowed business down for months.
Police say a group of men broke into Merck Chemists Pharmacy in Yonkers Tuesday morning and then rammed a car into a jewelry store before taking off with merchandise.
Businesses down McLean Avenue have been boarded up in case of looting during protests.
Some owners told News 12 they support the peaceful protesters but do not want their livelihoods to be damaged by looters in the process.
The owner at the Complexion Beauty Bar said after being closed for so long because of the pandemic, he and his wife do not want this to slow them down.
An incident also occurred at the Cross County Shopping Center. News 12 is told seven people broke into the Zales jewelry store. There is no word on if the incidents are connected.
