A brush fire at the Mount Pleasant Recycling Plant in Chappaqua has been extinguished.
The fire started at around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday and took firefighters all day to get under control. The fire covered more than an acre and drivers were able to smell smoke from the Taconic Parkway.
Six different fire departments worked to put out the burning mulch and debris.
