Residents in the Bronx are celebrating National Men's Health Week.
Doctors and others are working to promote healthy living and encourage the early detection of diseases among men and boys.
Dr. Jonathan Swartz at Montefiore Medical Center says it is important for everyone to have a complete physical exam done in adulthood to identify health risks.
Dr. Swartz also says that sexually transmitted diseases should be something to look out for among younger men.
Wakefield resident Darren Dinkins also says that a yearly checkup is necessary, especially for men with children. "You want to be around to see your children grow up," he says.
National Men's Health Week is celebrated the week before Father's Day every year.
