Authorities say a Bronx man and police officers exchanged gunfire Monday morning on Vyse Avenue.
Police say Tyrell Ingram was leaving a friend?s house at around 2 a.m. when he was confronted by narcotics officers about a bulge in his waistband. He allegedly then ran off while firing a shot at police. Police returned a single shot that has put Ingram in surgery at St. Barnabas Hospital to repair his thumb.
Ingram has prior arrests for drug-related incidents. Charges against him are still pending.
