The Bridgeport Fire Department is looking for candidates to fill dozens of jobs over the next two years.
The department is getting ready to fill current vacancies, along with upcoming retirements.
Fire departments are having as much trouble recruiting as other businesses in the age of COVID.
Chief Lance Edwards says the recruitment push is important to help the department keep up its numbers and its diversity.
The city is working on a new entry level exam. Candidates will also have to take the state-run Candidate Physical Ability Test, or CPAT.
Bridgeport Fire Department is reopening its renovated CPAT training facility to candidates next week. You can sign up for a session at the city's website.
