Police are alerting drivers to slow down in Briarcliff Manor
For Speed Awareness Week this week, they're installing speed radar feedback devices.
MORE:
The obvious signs will tell you your speed and give you a reminder to slow down.
Police say statistics show that these signs work and push drivers to slow down by up to 7 mph.
The department also says that it has installed discreet devices that you likely won't notice.
They collect speed, traffic counts, and vehicle sizes and all that data is broken down by the day and time.
Then the Briarcliff Manor Police Department can use that data to deploy a reasonable number of officers to particular areas at those high speeding times.
With the department being on the smaller side -- they say both of these devices will be very helpful.
