Police officials in Brewster say they have reached out to the Hispanic community to discuss alleged drunken driving incidents recently.
Brewster police say 26-year-old Segundo Tanay, an illegal immigrant from Ecuador, was arrested Friday night after his car his was seen swerving and speeding through the village. Police say the incident Friday follows an accident in which a mother and daughter were killed in June by an illegal immigrant who was allegedly driving drunk.
Police say they have been holding meetings with the immigrant population to try and educate them and address their concerns.
