A bomb threat disrupted the school day in Pelham Monday.
School officials say Pelham Memorial High School was evacuated around 9 a.m. after receiving a threat. Nearly 1,300 middle and high school students and 200 staff members were evacuated and walked to a safer facility with a police escort. All four district elementary schools were also placed on lockout.
Pelham, New Rochelle and Westchester County police were all on the scene, some with assault rifles, doing an exhaustive search of the grounds. "We want to make sure we put the kids back in and the building is safe for everybody to go back in and do what we have to do so we are going to take our time and do it right."
The all clear was given shortly before 2 p.m., and students were allowed back into the building
It has not been revealed how the threat was delivered or if police have any suspects.
