A potent, cheap strain of heroin known as blue bag is posing a threat in the Hudson Valley.
Local recovery centers, like the Briarcliff Institute, are already reporting overdoses among young people.
Scott Gillet, owner of the institute says the blue bag is about 10 times stronger than the typical bag of heroin sold in the area.
He says even though the blue bag has only been on the market for a month, it's already being sold in communities across Westchester for just $6 to $8 a bag.
Gillet says there is speculation that the heroin is coming from Afghanistan.
