A Bloomingburg man says his complaints about a dangerous stretch of road have gone unheard for months - and now someone crashed there over the weekend.

He provided the surveillance video to News 12 of a driver going off the road Sunday on Shawanga Lodge Road – right outside of his house.

The homeowner says he alerted town of Mamakating officials last year that road repairs and a guardrail were needed after another driver took out his mailbox.
He also sent News 12 photos of zig-zagged, newly painted double yellow lines on the road.

Mamakating officials say they’re aware of the concerns and are working to fix them - adding that the double yellow lines will be repainted by the county soon.

State police say the driver, 36-year-old Donald Ryerson, from Bloomingburg, was arrested and charged for DWAI. Authorities say Ryerson was on probation for two prior DWI/DWAI arrests within 10 years and that his license was revoked at the time of the crash.
