Wind advisory in effect as gusts bring power outage threat and bitter cold

A cold front is bringing damaging wind gusts that pose a power outage threat to the Hudson Valley on this bitterly cold Monday.
News 12 meteorologists say a wind advisory is in effect, and the region could get gusts up to 35 mph to 45 mph through 6 p.m. today. They say the gusts could cause down trees and limbs that could result in scattered to numerous power outages.
High temperatures today will be in the mid-40s, but the
bitter wind will make it feel colder -- more like the 30s and 20s.
There may be a snow flurry or snow shower around thanks to
the strong winds trying to pull down some lake effect snow showers, but most of
that dries up before reaching the Hudson Valley. The day is mostly dry, just windy
and cold with a mix of sun and clouds.
The chill sticks around into Tuesday. For the rest of the week, conditions will be mostly dry with seasonable temperatures. Highs will be flirting with 70 by the end of the week.
