There have been several bear sightings in Westchester County recently.
Police were called to Yorktown on Friday because of a reported black bear sighting, and earlier this week there was one spotted in Somers.
It is unclear if the bear spotted in Somers is the same bear that was spotted in Yorktown on Friday.
As News 12 has previously reported, the black bear population is on the rise in New York. The Department of Environmental Conservation is trying to determine any potential impact on humans.
Yorktown police advise residents who see black bears to report them and stay away.
