Workers at the Sharing Community in Yonkers expect to receive more guests than usual as temperatures drop around the Hudson Valley.
Cots have been set up in the shelter and warm blankets are being given to those who need them.
Client care supervisor Jasper Cokely says the shelter makes room for those who need it and won't turn anyone away.
"As long as they're not sleeping on something cold, as long as they are warm, they are inside," he says.
Workers say people who happen to come by are always welcome. Some people are even brought by police.
