A favorite burger spot in Orange County is getting some statewide recognition for its best burger – for the second year in a row!
Ben’s Fresh on East Main Street in Port Jervis took third place Monday in the New York Beef Council’s Best Burger competition in Syracuse.
Chef Bobby Geraghty says they entered their signature Benny Burger – like last year - for the third prize win. The burger is made up of an all-beef patty, with American cheese and the burger joint's signature Benny sauce.
“Last year, the response was overwhelming,” says Geraghty.  “We doubled our burger sales and are hopefully looking forward to the same results again this year. But it’s great. It’s great for us and great for the Hudson Valley.”
Ale ‘n Angus from Syracuse placed first in the best burger competition for the sixth time.
