Friends and family said a final farewell today to a beloved Washingtonville father who died while trying to save his son and two friends from drowning while on vacation in Puerto Rico.
Hundreds gathered today to remember 47-year-old Joe Rosario at Saint Mary's Church in Washingtonville.
The retired New York City police detective and Little League coach drowned last month while saving his 12-year-old son and two friends from a strong ocean riptide.
Rosario leaves behind a wife, two children and a stepdaughter.
