College credentials have become a major issue as candidates battle in the 99th state Assembly District race.
Republican candidate Greg Ball says his Democratic opponent, Ken Harper, has perpetuated the lie that he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts in English. Harper countered that he never reported anything other than four years of education at the college. He says he ran out of money and is still short six classes from getting his degree.
At a news conference Wednesday in front of Pleasantville High School, Harper's alma mater, Ball says there's more at stake. He says it?s an issue of integrity. Ball claims Harper purposely misled the League of Women Voters. A brochure put out by the group states Harper has a degree from the school, but they now say it was an assumption after seeing he had studied there for four years. Voters will decide if the issue makes a difference when they cast their ballot on November 7.
