Business owners along Ashford Avenue are trying to remain optimistic that construction in the area won't hurt sales.
Construction started this week on the bridge that connects Ardsley and Dobbs Ferry along Ashford Avenue. Right now there are two lanes of traffic heading in each direction over the bridge. Owners hope that will be enough to keep their loyal customers.
During the project, drivers will have to deal with fewer lanes on the bridge. The northbound entrance and exit ramps on the Saw Mill at Exit 17 are currently closed, making access more of a hassle.
Construction will be completed in four stages.
