Westchester Democrats chose Anthony Scarpino Tuesday as their party's nominee to replace former District Attorney Janet DiFiore.
Former FBI agent-turned-lawyer Scarpino won out over longtime defense attorney George Fufido.
Democrats outnumber Republicans 2-1 in Westchester County, so most people have predicted that the Democratic nominee will be the next district attorney.
Scarpino says he is confident he can handle the job.
Westchester voters are only electing a new district attorney this year after Janet DiFiore resigned her post to take a position as chief judge on the Court of Appeals in New York.
